SVBA Early Stage Innovation Award
April 23, 2019
We were delighted to be a part of the 2019 South & Vale Business Awards by sponsoring the Early Stage Innovation Award.
The SVBA Evening Ceremony took place at Williams Conference Centre back in March, but the Early Stage Innovation Award winners - Zap&Go, were unfortunately unable to attend the event.
Instead, the award was presented to the company’s Founder and Chief Executive Stephen Voller and Office Manager Gayle Baker, at the company’s impressive new facility located at Harwell Campus.
Zap&Go were selected by FOCUS to receive the award as Paul Monaco, Commercial Insurance Director, explains.
Focus has been supporting Early Stage Science and Technology Businesses for many years by providing insurance and financial advice solutions. We were pleased to support the South and Value Business Awards 2019 and Sponsor the Early Stage Innovation Award.
Some very strong and diverse applications were received and the award this year was given to ZapGo Ltd, who were founded in 2013 with technology from the University of Oxford and are developing much better batteries and fast charging technology for the modern world.
It was felt that their technology has the capability to make a significant difference to how we all use and store power and impact our day to day lives. In a relatively short time they have grown the business significantly and have ambitious plans to grow further. We wish them every success.
Stephen Voller, Founder and CEO of Zap&Go, said:
We were immensely honoured to have received this award. This award reflects the incredible achievements of the whole team at Zap&Go over the last 5 years who have contributed to development of our technology.
We would also like to thank SVBA and Focus to take the trouble of presenting our award in our new R&D facility at Harwell.
