FOCUS MacMillan Coffee Morning Success

Monday, October 08, 2018

On Friday 5th October, we hosted a MacMillan Coffee Morning as part of the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning fundraising campaign.

FOCUS has a dedicated band of bakers, who, along with friends and relatives provided a feast of both sweet and savoury bakes.  The office was a constant hive of coffee, cake and chat throughout the morning as fellow Seacourt Tower residents came to support the event alongside representatives from many other local businesses.

As well as enjoying the baked goodies, we also had a “Guess the date of the wedding” competition, with the prize being a beautiful “naked” wedding cake. This was won by Simon Lunn of Punter Southall Focus, who had the closest guess to the date of Private Client Director Roz Wright’s niece’s wedding, which takes place on 4th August 2019.

There was also the more traditional business card prize draw for a bottle of very nice Champagne, which was won by Alex Pelow from Blake Morgan solicitors.

Finally, a Best Baker prize was awarded to Steve Potter, who was “encouraged” by his wife, Michelle (Commercial Account Executive) for his totally delicious Brooklyn Blackout Chocolate Cake. Hot on his heels were John Fedrick (Commercial Motor Manager) for his seasonal Blackberry and Apple Loaf  and Lindsey Stribling for her Gin & Tonic and Lime & Blueberry cakes.

But the most important detail was the amount of money raised – a grand total of £677.82 – £150 more than our 2017 event!

So, a huge thank you to everyone involved – and let’s make it a £1000 fundraiser next year!
